Then, he gave up the fame and gain and retired Kunshan Plum Cottage. Among many writings of the late Ming, "Plum Cottage writing" of Chang da-fu was a representative of the time. The content of this work was mainly the recall and supported the middle-aged life that had lost color life with the former half of the world's memory. For blind Chang da-fu, those things were extremely significant to seize on every touched moment or look back to the past. Under this circumstance, he had created the "Plum Cottage writing" which became a pioneer of recall work in the late Ming.
Literatures reflect the times and explore the phenomenon of the times through the works. The content of "Plum Cottage writing" seemed to write literary feelings and daily chores. In fact, it reflected the atmosphere of the late Ming era. The country’s situation of late Ming potential recession and social economy had changed rapidly. Even he was sentimental to what he had encountered that were recorded in the book. Chang da-fu did not retreat to escape when facing the difficulties of his life. On the contrary, he experienced deeply various flavors of life and created unlimited text moved with a limited life creating unique flavor of the book.
Human cognition is from the accumulation of the physical environment experiences and produces a personal consciousness of time and space. Although Chang da-fu was confined to bed due to poor health, he looked at things with the mind that was exceptionally thorough clarity. He had his own insight when he had encountered many things in his life. In this essay, we analyzed the Chang da-fu’s "Plum Cottage writing" from the aesthetic point of view of time and space. The work shows us that its temporal aesthetic characteristics exhibited. Because its consciousness of time and space, Art and aesthetic value of time and space. "Plum Cottage writing" is certainly of creative worth.
