Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立屏東科技大學 === 生物科技系所 === 102 === Alpinia officinarum Hance. ( Zingiberaceae ) is a perennial herb that was widely cultivated in Guangdong, Guangxi, and Taiwan. A. officinarum is also called Liang zang, Gau liang zang, Fong zang, and Hai lang zang. Previous studies have demonstrated that A. officinarum rhizomes contain a lot of chemical substances of flavonoids and diarylheptanoids. with anti-cancer, anti-virus, anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-mutagenic and anti-oxidant activities. In this study, the air-dried rhizomes of A. officinarum were extracted with methanol. The MeOH extract was partitioned by ethyl acetate and butanol with water, respectively, to give EtOAc, n-BuOH and water layers. The extract of each layer was subjected to screen biological acitrvities and the result showed that the EtOAc layer of A. officinarum rhizomes have significant anti-oxidant and cytotoxic activities. Furthermore, these fractions from the EtOAc layer were purified by repeated column chromatography, high performance liquid chromatography and recrystallization. To obtain 23 compounds including one steroid, three flavonoids, one IV monoterpenoid, two sesquiterpenoids, two aromatics and fourteen diarylheptanoids. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic analysis including UV, EI-MS and NMR techniques.
