The relations among the background variables, and the relations among personalities were explored in relation to students’ prosocial behavior. The subjects included 245 Scouts and 243 non-scouts, all in all, 488 students in 6 junior high schools. They were given “The Big Five Inventory (BFI)” and “The Questionnaire of Personalities and Prosocial Behaviors of Junior High Scouts”. The data of questionnaires was analyzed with mean t-test, one-way analysis of variance, Person’s product-moment correlation coefficient. There were several finding in this research: 1. The prosocial behavior of Scouts is better than that of non-Scouts. 2. The prosocial behavior of Girl Scouts who have had experiences as junior Scouts was better than that of Scouts who did not have such experience. 3. The findings significantly showed scouts with better performance on conscientiousness than non-scouts, and non-scouts with higher for neuroticism. 4. Students with extraversion, agreeableness, neuroticism and openness to experience showed higher prosocial behaviors. 5. These findings showed the importance and the necessity of scouting education. Ultimately, several suggestions were made in the study in accordance with the results of this investigation, serving as reference for the related educational authorities, school administrative unit, scouting educators and future studies.
