碩士 === 國立中山大學 === 劇場藝術學系碩士班 === 102 === The earliest choral festival in Taiwan was organized by the Council for Cultural Affairs in 1991. The Taipei Philharmonic Foundation for Culture and Education, a non-profit organization, has taken over and hosted the Taipei International Choral Festival (TICF) since 1996. It is the pioneer of a private choral festival in Taiwan. TICF has been making great efforts to introduce outstanding foreign performers to Taiwan and to educate the local talented musicians. It is the most well-known choral Festival in Taiwan with international standard. This study aimed to exam how a non-government organization can achieve its goal of international exchange by hosting a choral festival. This research cross-examined the secondary data and the in-depth interviews and tried to understand the current situation of TICF and its organizing process. SWOT analysis was used as the framework to evaluate 10 interviewees’ information, including organizers, experts and participants. Several suggestions were raised after the findings. Although it did not get the government funding every year, TICF builds strong connections with several international organizations, which help the festival to expand its scale year by year. The master courses also increase the attractions of the festival to all the choral lovers.
