The product innovative performance is one of the critical successful determinants of long-term business development. Knowledge is imperative business asset in terms of new product development. However, due to the neglect of the in-house business resource, supplier involvement to the new product R&D would facilitate the business to apply external obtained knowledge. The product innovative performance is enhanced. The past relational capital, the supplier ad-hoc investment is relatively novel. Therefore, the study of the discussion whether the relational capital affects the product innovative performance through supplier involvement is scant. After the obtainment of supplier knowledge, it is rare to explore how to apply supplier knowledge for advancement. This study would verify the supplier relational capital to affect product innovative performance through supplier involvement and knowledge application. The study empirically demonstrates that a positive relationship between supplier relational capital to supplier involvement and supplier knowledge application, and a positive relationship between supplier involvement and supplier knowledge application to product innovative performance. In addition, the supplier involvement and supplier knowledge application play vital roles to mediate the causal relation between the supplier relational capital and the product innovative performance.
