A Predictive study of frailty status with quality of life among community-dwelling elderly

Discussed life quality of different frailty level of elders. 4. Predicted elders’ life quality by frailty. Method: This study is focus on elders of community. This research schedule is from July 2013 to September 2013. The researcher do SOF Frailty Index measurement and collect personal information and health status of elders. Those information include sex, age, education, occupation, live along, income, history of medical and fall down, fracture, smoke, drunk, self-awareness of health and self-awareness of happiness. Total survey is 275; the researcher takes back 239 surveys, so the completed rate is 86.91%. Result: In this study analysis, there is significantly different in age, education, income, live along, the waistline, systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, BMD, strength of grasp, number of chronic disease, history of fall down, smoke, self-awareness of health and self-awareness of happiness between three elder groups. About predict of life quality, R square value of predictable in physical domain is 65.7%. Variables are age, income, BMI, BMD, medical history, fracture, self-awareness of health, and self-awareness of happiness. R square value of predictable in psychological domain is 56.7%. Variables of predictable are frailty, BMD, number of chronic disease, self-awareness of health, and self-awareness of happiness. R square value of predictable in social relationship is 27.8%. Variables are age, BMD and self-awareness of happiness. R square value of predictable in environment is 40.6%. Variables are sex, age, BMD, number of chronic disease, history of fall down and fracture, self-awareness of health, and self-awareness of happiness. In this study, we hope that we can offer those variables of predictable to promote health of community elders.
