Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺中教育大學 === 美術學系碩士班 === 102 === This study investigated various versions of published picture books of “Nightingale” in Andersen’s Fairy Tales interpreted by illustrators. Illustrators have to accumulate long-term visual experiences and re-construct the text to expand their imagination and increase the acceptance of tales. In addition, they also have to extend the space layout to overcome the limitations on text. Once a picture is shown in a book, it cannot be easily ignored. Therefore, the pictures in picture books enable readers to focus on the atmosphere and aesthetics of tales. Moreover, the interpretation styles and creative approaches of illustrators are different. Although the same text is used as the basis to create pictures, there are differences in the pictures created. The transformation of text of fairy tales into pictures creates a specific meaning and value in the creation and compilation of picture books. In addition, the transformation of children’s books into pictures is an unstoppable new trend. The vitality of literary works is not only to present the value and charm of original works, but also to convey it. The transformation of text into pictures is exactly the addition of depth to literature, which enriches the flexibility and creativity of literature and includes both specific and imaginary values to diversify the images of literature. The main purpose of this study is to analyze the visual expression of 8 picture- books by choosing the pictures of 4 scenes in the text of Andersen’s ”Nightingale”.
