碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 文化與自然資源學系碩士班 === 102 === The purpose of this study is to understand the Taiwan YuKaKu During the Japanese Colonial Period, especially Shinmachi YuKaKu in Tainan. First, I want to see the whole picture about Taiwan’s prostitutes industry after Japnese imported YuKaKu and legal prostitution system. Second, according to Tainan prostitutes industry, I first confirm the process about Tainan prostitutes industry transferred from Gate West Side to Shinmachi, then do the research about it’s development and management. final, analyze people who work there to understand their composition of population, population flow, and correlation with society and economy. According to the result, no matter who they are, they are always follow some rules in their behavior, and have big related to society and economy. For example, they choose to work around port often because port is more prosperous than the interior city, and has more people. They are often eldest daughter because of kingship. And the employee flow, just like city development, is from north to south.
