The solar energy has attracted increasing attentions in recent years. Dye sensitized solar cells(DSSCs)have got much attentions due to possibilities of low fabrication cost, no need for elaborate apparatus to manufacture and flexibility. For the performance of dye-sensitized solar cells(DSSCs), using ZnO nanorod arrays as electrodes is a hot study subject because of its excellent electro-optical properties. In this study, dye-sensitized solar cells(DSSCs)were manufactured with three different kind of ZnO nanorods as photoelectrodes. They are undoped zinc oxide nanorods, aluminum-doped zinc oxide nanorods and annealed ones. The electrochemical impedance spectroscopy was used to investigate the interface resistance of the cell. It is found that the power conversion efficiency of the cell increases with decreasing the interface impedance of ZnO nanorods. The aluminum-doped zinc oxide nanorods with single-crystalline quality and higher conductance make electrons transport much faster and result in higher photocurrent densities. The AC impedance provides the information of carrier transport resistance in the cells and helps us to enhance the conversion efficiency of dye-sensitized solar cells.
