Three pairs of colleagues were recruited and in-depth interviews with were conducted. Phenomenology-oriented methodology and dyadic analysis were used for data analysis. The findings of the study are as the followings: 1. There are four stages of the friendship establishment between the colleagues with and without mental disorders: (1) Initiating:The colleagues were attracted by the internal and external conditions of each other, and opportunities for interaction were facilitated. (2) Experimenting: The differences between colleagues with and without mental disorders were appeared, let the relationships into break-in period (3) Coexistence: Model of coexistence were developed due to understanding and adjustment. (4) Intimate: Trusts between the colleagues were aroused, therefore the bonding was improved. 2. The barriers for people with mental disorders to establish workplace friendship at the personal aspect, including inconsistent with the ability and expectation, self- stigma, and symptoms and personality traits. At the environmental aspect, including workplace culture, and the distance from leverages of positions. 3. The facilitators for people with mental disorders to establish workplace friendship at the personal aspect, including commitment, social skills, personality traits, and the experience of peers with workplace friendship establishment in the past. At the environmental aspect, including workers with the knowledge of the disease and employers' awareness of social responsibility In the discussion session, future suggestions for studies and practice for people working with mental disorders were proposed.
