碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 台灣文化研究所 === 102 === Among 35 Tachen settlements in Taiwan, there are 20 in Kaohsiung and Pingtung and that means it is more than half of them. Therefore, the two places become the headguarters of them and also the center of this research. Through the cultural heritage data, dictation culture and field study, it takes these settlements as a research object to understand the history of Tachen Withdrawal, the life of Tachen archipelago, and the difficulties that Tachenians have suffered and the breakthroughs they have made in almost 60 years (1955-2014). In addition, the paper is based on geography position which is divided into four areas as Depend on Mountain, Face to River, Alongside the Sea and Downtown, and the career-oriented distribution of these 20 Tachen settlements to realize their current conditions and follow-up development. The special gods of Tachen, unique customs and the habits of sacrificial offerings are also recorded in the thesis to reflect the differences between Tachen settlements and military dependents’ villages, and show the its own particularity from other ethnicities. Finally, people are expected to get more knowledge about Tachen through the paper, and I hope to arouse all the Tachenians to respect and cherish their own cultural value.
