Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 特殊教育學系碩士在職專班 === 102 === The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of a positive behavior support plan on improving social behavior for a child with visual impairment. Based on the information of functional assessment through informant methods and direct observation, the researcher realized the function of inappropriate social behaviors of a child and developed the positive behavior support plan. The subject of the study was a child with visual impairment. The research method adopted the withdrawal design of a single-subject research design. This study was used with the positive behavior support plan on the basis of functional assessment as independent variable, and the inappropriate social behaviors and positive behaviors as dependent variable. Data was collected during periods of baseline, intervention I, withdrawal, intervention II and maintenance. The researcher analyzed the data by using visual analysis and C statistics to get the results of the study. At the end of training, participators in this study were interviewed to evaluate the social validity of this study. The results of this study were as follows: 1.According to the functional assessment, the researcher concluded that the function of inappropriate social behaviors were tangibles and getting attention. 2.Strategies of the positive behavior support plan included antecedent behavior, training and consequence strategies 3.A child could be effective to improve inappropriate social behaviors and acquire positive behaviors through the positive behavior support plan. The results of the study could be maintained. 4.The social validity of the positive behavior support plan was good. Based on the results of the study, suggestions for related personnel and further research were proposed.
