The bridge is the main course to Fulong Beach, which is famous for Fulong International Sand Sculpture Festival and Ho-hai-yan Rock Festival. Every summer, the bridge is frequently used by numerous tourists. To assure the safety and the carrying capacity, a structure reinforcement work of it is requested. In general, the RC structures need to be strengthened when the safety of RC structures is threatened by some harmful factors including the aging of concrete, damage cause by external force, the corrosion, functional change, original design and construction errors, more load-carrying requirement due to new code. And the interfacial bond between the repair material and original concrete is the key to determine the repair quality. First, through a professional institution, a series of visual inspection with photo taken, nondestructive strengthtest of concrete, vertical load capacity evaluation without lateral pressure, safety evaluation with standard level of lateral wind was taken. And it is found that the structure of the bridge is damaged. So the next step was, via a design institution, a series of reinforcement designs and works. In this case, it is assumed that the structure reinforcement will be completed with a floating dolphin boat used as platform, the steel plate coating methodutilized on pier caps, andthe carbon fiber patch method utilized on pier studs with RC coating method as outside reinforcement.
