DC power is used for traction power with regenerative braking system to recycle power in our country. However, transmission, transform, rectification and inverter processes etc. need to use nonlinear equipment, so a lot of harmonic current feedback generated to feeds, causing voltage distortion, decreasing quality and stability of the power system. This thesis will study the relationship between the headway with traction power harmonics in the MRT, we choose Taiyuan International Airport MRT system for the subject, the MRT system combines Airport Express Rail Transportation and commuter transit with express and commuters, and it is one of few systems that has large steep rail and require more traction power. A3 bulk substation is the largest captor in the railway, so this thesis will analyze this bulk substation by power quality and transient analysis software PSCAD / EMTDC for four headways, include 600 seconds, 360 seconds, 180 seconds and 120 seconds. Got harmonics spectrum and then compare to harmonic distortion regulatory of TPC, insure all distortion are meet with the regulatory. At the same time, find the differences between the theoretical with the calculation results to confirm the study method is correct. Finally make summary above result and provide recommendations for headway adjustment and other requirement.
