Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 教育經營與管理學系 === 102 === The aim of the study is to investigate the influence of teachers’ organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) on the individual level personality traits and group-level organizational climate. It also investigated the differences between teachers and their administrators on their awareness of organizational citizenship behavior. From the personality traits and organizational climate, we concluded the factors that affect the performance of teachers’ OCB. Finally we made suggestions for those factors.
In the study, two questionnaires were designed based on the literature review, "New Taipei City elementary school teachers’ personality traits, organizational climate and organizational citizenship behavior Questionnaire - Teacher's Edition" and "New Taipei City elementary school teachers' organizational citizenship behavior questionnaire - Executive Edition". After pilot study, the reliability and validity of the questionnaires were analyzed and ensured. The population is the public elementary school teachers in New Taipei City. The stratified random sampling method was applied, and the questionnaires were administered in 68 schools. The valid questionnaires were from 60 schools (360 teachers and 180 administrators). The effective response rate is 88.23%. SPSS18 and hierarchical linear modeling (HLM6.08) were utilized to analyze the data from quesitonnaires and yielded the following conclusions:
1.Organizational citizenship behavior could be predicted by Big Five personality traits of elementary school teachers in New Taipei City. Among the Big Five personality traits, the extraversion and conscientiousness are the most influential factors on the organizational citizenship behavior.
2.Organizational climate of elementary schools in New Taipei City is positive. Principals’ supportive behavior and teachers’ collegial behavior of organizational climate are positive effectiveness.
3.The elementary school teachers in New Taipei City performed well in organizational citizenship behavior, sepecially the “professional dedication”. However, they performed worse in “school commitment”, especially among the teachers serving in school for 11~20 years.
4.The result shows that the attitudes between teachers and the administrators are positively correlated in “professional dedication”.
5.In the part of “professional dedication”, the homeroom teachers performed better than the subject teachers and the female teachers are better than the male counterparts.
6.All dimensions of organizational climate have different moderating effects for Big Five personality traits and organizational citizenship behavior of elementary school teachers in New Taipei City.
The researcher proposed certain suggestions based on the results of this study, which serves as the references for the educational institutions, the administrators in elementary schools, and the following research.
