At the same time, many countries attached great importance to exploit potential female labor forces. Past researches dissected from microeconomic perspectives, focusing on the effect of age, marriage, and fertility on female labor supply. This study tried to investigate the effect of foreign workers in social welfare on female labor force participation under the conditions of population ageing and the shift of industrial transformation. We constructed an ARX model and used time series data from manpower surveys between April, 2002 and December, 2013 for estimation. We find that introducing foreign workers in social welfare significantly increases female labor force participation rate, and a 1 percentage point increase in the ratio of total foreign workers in social welfare to total population leads to 4.6 percentage point increase in female labor participation rate. In additions, the expansion of service industry significantly increases the female labor force participation rate. These two main outcomes may provide some enlightenment to the government on establishing labor policies and the subsidy programs of building female-friendly working environments.
