Its long-term average return has been up by 11% which is much higher than stocks and real estates investment. The art investment has become an emerging target investment. Risks of investing in art is that within a short time the price could be bid up too high – creating an investment a bubble. In addition, if the market is flooded with counterfeit, investors will be reluctant to invest in artworks; thereby slowing down the art market liquidity. In this thesis, the smart mobile devices and radio frequency identification technology are developed for art security and digital mobile search. Gallery managers will insert pertinent art information in the RFID tag. The database management server via RFID digital archive management system together with the use of RFID technology and backend authentication server mode can achieve security for the artwork. Visitors or investors can use smart mobile devices, at any time and at any place to link on the cloud digital navigation system to access information about artwork. While in the gallery, visitors or investors can use the smart mobile device to read the RFID tag. The information on the art can be immediately displayed to the visitors which allow the visitors to learn more about the artists. Preservation and appreciation of art can become a new tool for investment purposes, as more and more middle investors are getting involved. The artwork by identification can protect the investors which is also incites willingness on the investors to invest when these investors find themselves protected against unscrupulous vendors who sell fakes to investors while scarifying the interests of investors.
