Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺東大學 === 文化資源與休閒產業學系 === 102 === Due to Taiwan aborigines’ permanent lifestyle in the mountain forest and fields, they have developed a unique plant culture through the observation and understanding of the natural environment. These commonly seen plants are suitable to be designed into kindergarten curriculum, allowing children to learn through life experiences that they are familiar with. This study selected a Taitung County elementary schools affiliated kindergarten of 12 children for the study, conducted six weeks ethnobotanical courses. Developed the curriculum of Paiwan ethnobotany based on the four steps of kindergarten-based curriculum development: analyze the situations and factors of curriculum development, construct teaching approach, design and execute teaching activities, and evaluate, give feedback and amend. Through the attempt of this action research, data collection such as teaching journals, teaching introspection, observation records, children’s learning sheets and so on. The obtained information provided clarity and understanding of children’s learning performances and the curriculum design progress of ethnobotany implementation in kindergartens. Finally, this research aims to preserve botanical wisdom of Taiwan aborigines through school education. The conclusions of the research findings are as follows:
1.This research has shown that ethnobotany implementation into
kindergarten curriculum through introspection and amendment is
practically feasible.
2. Through children’s learning performances and changes of cognition in
Paiwan ethnobotany as well as the feedback from parents and
co-teachers, it has shown that ethnobotany curriculum is capable of
increasing children’s interests and achievement in learning.
3. According to the trilateral observations from the researcher, parents
and co-teachers, They indicated that, the child utilizes ethnobotany
in the daily life, needs the long time also the various observation.
