Abstract
In this study was to explore the junior high school students of different personality traits in using Facebook current situation and influencing factors – take a junior high school of New Taipei as the example.Questionnaire was adopted in this research.and it is self-made. The actual survey was 462 male and female students of 7th-9th grade.The results showed:
1. The high percentage of using “Facebook” among the junior high school students.
2. “Gender”, “ grade” , “GPA in class” in using Facebook experience are not apparently different.
3. Junior high school students of different personality traits groups are apparently different in using Facebook experience. The highest one is “extraversion, “nervousness”“agreeableness”, “strict self-discipline”.It is the highest one in levels & total scores of“ easy to learn and easy to use for the program”, “community fellowship” & “ information sharing” of Facebook experience ”.
4. Among junior high school students with overall personality traits： “extraversion”, “agreeableness”, “strict self-discipline”, “clever-openness” and “ easy to learn and easy to use for the program”, “community fellowship” & “ information sharing” are a significant positive correlation .
5. “Agreeableness” was predicted by highest “ total scores of Facebook experience ”、 “ easy to learn and easy to use for the program” 、& “ information sharing” in every aspect of personality traits.And “Facebook friends registered” was predicted by highest “community fellowship” .
Finally, related suggestions for further studies were provided for parents, teachers, and students.
