The main purpose of this study are as follows: 1.To investigate the existence of the strategic groups in the optoelectronics industry. 2.To examine the different actions adopted by the member firms affiliated with different strategic groups. 3.To examine whether there exists significant performance differences firms affiliated with different strategic groups. This study first identify three dimensions of strategic actions by firms, including:scope commitments, resource commitments, and competitive advantage. Then 11 strategic variables were developed to measure strategic actions of firms. This study uses two-step cluster analysis, discriminant analysis, one-way ANOVA and Scheffe multiple comparison methods to discriminant strategic group membership and to compare the performance difference between each groups. The main results of this research are as follows: 1.Based on the 11 strategic variables, four strategic groups can be identified in the optoelectronics industry, named as:passive-react groups, market-leader groups, size-leader groups, and capacity-oriented group. 2.Regarding the performance difference of strategic group membership, this study find that the market-leader groups is the best, followed by the size-leader group and capacity-oriented group, and the passive-react group is the worst performer. 3.There are also significant differences among the four 4 groups in market shares, ROA, ROE and net income. 朱文儀 2014 學位論文 ; thesis 59 zh-TW
