碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 工業管理系 === 102 === This investigation evaluates the utilization efficiency of electrical grid facilities in 6 regional branches of transmission system and 21 regional branches of distribution system of Taiwan Power Company by applying Data Envelopment Analysis. The investigation reveals that 4 transmission branches and 16 distribution branches do not have productive efficiency. And among them, 2 transmission branches and 11 distribution branches do not have technical efficiency also. All of these branches should take effort to reduce their quantity of facilities to improve efficiency, and 8 distribution branches could also increase their electricity sales. None of transmission branches is under decreasing returns to scale. And the smaller distribution branches tend towards increasing returns to scale, but the bigger distribution branches tend towards decreasing. The investigation suggests that part of the regional electrical grid expansion plans could be held or canceled, and some of the systems could be split or moved between the branches to promote efficiency.
