Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 機械工程系 === 102 === The research is to design gate on injection molding process in order to see the effect on optical quality of LED secondary optical lens. The optical lens have a different thickness. By using three-dimensional filling concept, parametric design of gate can be obtained. Moldex3Dc simulation is used to simulate the filling process observing three dimensional flow. Then, the effect of optical quality of two different gate designs on LED secondary optical lens are compared. The injection molding experiment, short shot, and flow front profiles are in the same agreement with the Moldex3Dc simulation. By changing the parametric gate design of LED secondary optical lens, the optical performance is quite similar with the TraceProc optical simulation result which has the angle as 26.7 degree. The optical measurements consist of center illumination measurement and the angle of illumination. The LED optical secondary lens with modified parametric gate design has improved optical efficiency as 2.5% and more stable results than the LED optical secondary lens with original gate design. The result of this study can be applied in uneven thickness product and thick part made by injection molding to reduce the production time and improve the product quality.
