| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立聯合大學 === 工業設計學系碩士班 === 103 === In the trend of globalization, it is necessary to upgrade the industry so as to show the characteristics and cultures of different regions or countries. More importantly, creativity and design should be blended into the industry under the concept of "cultural heritage and creative life". In this way, the value will be transformed from meeting people’s needs in physical domain to the higher level of cultural state. Through innovation, cultural connotation will be reflected in real life and become the best cornerstone of industrial development. Based upon the mortise skill of traditional furniture, this study proposed a design and development model for modern furniture. With the idea of styling competition, the connotation of oriental culture is combined in the furniture to grasp the development direction and trend of furniture design.
This study analyzes various traditional mortise skills, and then through analysis and induction, apply these mortise skills in new furniture design following the furniture development model. The traditional mortise technology is appropriately integrated into modern furniture design and show a brand new cultural image.
The furniture designed in this study features mortise skills and cultural innovation and transformation. The mortise skills not only pass cultural heritage but also create new cultural styles. Particularly, the mortise skill reflects the cultural and craft aesthetics. Through the innovation application of mortise furniture design, it demonstrates creativity and opportunities in design innovation in product form, texture, color and style trend. It can be imagined that the combination of traditional skill and new furniture design concept serves a new possible model in design operation.
