I was used Taiwan Nichi Nichi Shin Bo(臺灣日日新報) and Shanghai Shun Pao(上海申報). At the same time also touch some questions about people with mental health. The first, mental health only use in Psychiatry. It is say the introduction is about the personal experience of an American youth, U.W.Beers who had suffered in mental hospital and eventually brought the cases to public attention. Until 1930s in china some people were used it in the life. To the intellectual in early Republican Shanghai, mental health is a trendy term. In fact, authorities and scholars believes that mental health is a sensitive term dealing with regular mental illness among the citizen. But in Taiwan not like Shanghai, it only say Psychiatry. As the name suggests the mental health is talk about many people when they feel bad, how can they solve question. We know everyone have human emotions, like happiness, love, anger, fear, sadness, hate and desire. So the mental health is very important, if someone can’t solve Negative emotions who can use it have fun. The gray area between psychotic person and non-psychotic person, mental health is in there. I want comparison of Taiwan and Shanghai, they use different Methods see the Psychiatry. In the fact, mental health history of Taiwan and Shanghai are not the same. In there the government is very important. For example the R.O.C government first brought the delegation to the international congress of mental health. The case reveal the republican government already the importance to link to the development abroad. The Colonial government is focuses on Japanese nationals in Taiwan and Psychiatry. There are three purposes of this paper: 1. The intellectual in Shanghai how was introducing the latest knowledge of mental health abroad. 2. In Taiwan Colonial government had done investigations on patients of mental illness on Meiji, Taisho, and Showa. And why do they have this paper. 3.
