| Summary: | 碩士 === 世新大學 === 觀光學研究所(含碩專班) === 102 === This research investigates what impacts the Pingxi Sky Lantern Festival brought to local. It empirically studied the three impacts of economic, social culture, and environmental, and proposes some suggestions from local residents for future development. Used a combination of literature review, observation, and in-depth interview, the data were collected from April, 2013 to April, 2014.
The findings of the study indicate that the Sky Lantern Festival has more positive impact on tourism. Economic impact,1. More employment and income;2. Higher housing, land, and rent, rent especially;3. Poverty gap is not significant.Social culture impact,1. Life quality remains steady;2. Public security is well maintained;3. Good interaction with tourists;4. Proactive participation and strong identification of residents.Environmental impact,1. Well shuttle scheme, no traffic jams;2. Good reclamation of sky lantern, no pollution;3. Worse itinerary design without enough signs.
The practical implications for future development are discussed within the contexts of sign and itinerary system, more parking grids for tourist relaxation, and parking.
