| Summary: | 碩士 === 樹德科技大學 === 應用設計研究所 === 102 === Derived from ancient astronomical calendar of Chinese culture, “twenty-four solar terms”, compared with “four seasons”, documented climate changes of each seasons more detailed. It established through thousands years of accumulated experiences and examinations. Our ancestors followed the spirits of each solar terms to determine their agricultural progress or as references of their daily lives.
In the western realm of fashion,“Chinese style ”is currently on the rise. Yet, the works partial to innate superficial image. Hence, the motivation of this study is to do in-depth study on the essences of Chinese culture and create combination with fashion style designs. Though there is a glut of style designs based on “four seasons”, little efforts were put into “twenty-four solar terms”, which is more abstract and detailed.
This study is conducted to study the true definition of each solar terms through references; extract representative images of each solar terms and analyze existing related works of twenty-four solar terms. Then, refer to logical thinking of Iconology to gather imageries of “twenty-four solar terms” and capture three corresponding elements, “form”, “color”, “quality”, transfer them into words and phrases to extract representative core spirits of each solar terms in style design. Followed by applying “Visualization&Association(V&A)” to create sketch creation on the basis of sensual intuitive associations with related imageries. Eventually, materialize sketches to perform conceptions through collocations of makeup, hairstyle and headwear designs with living models to convey respective imageries of twenty-four solar terms fully and explicitly.
