Summary:碩士 === 樹德科技大學 === 兒童與家庭服務系 === 102 === This study is to show the influence of parental marriage on married family, based on deep understanding of parental marriage relationship from personal perspective. To achieve the research purpose, we used qualitative research method and employed semi- structured interview to collect related information from 6 study subjects. The results are as followed: 1. The marital relationship of the participant’s parents was affected by the social values and environments. However, the participants were able to objectively relate with the conflicts that arose in their parent’s marital relationship and provided improvement suggestions. In addition, the participants could reflect on their parent’s marital relationship, recognize the parent’s sacrifices for the family and take lessons from their parents. 2. Although One cannot predict the end of his/her own marriage, they usually has their own expectations toward marriage and make choices according to the expectations, in addition, those choices usually relate to past experiences. The participants would change their thoughts to cope with the negative experience occurred in marriage regardless marital status or conflicts. 3. Without exception, parents more or less may instill their own values to their children. Furthermore, the opinions parents give to their children before marriage from their own past experiences would influence the children’s married family. We should be cautious to draw conclusions from this study due to the broad year difference among the study subjects. Also, the data are personal subjective experiences, including at least two study subjects in the same family will be better in terms of objectivity.
