Many of the traditional manufacturing companies tried to improve their competitiveness. The methods to improve competitiveness are nothing more than holding market share and reducing costs. To keep market share one should make quality products and to reduce cost one should have better process parameters to optimize process. The research tried to optimize process parameters of automatic spraying process to reduce cost and ensure product quality. The research first utilized Plato analysis to get important quality characteristics of nonconforming products. Cause and effect diagram through brain storming is then applied find all possible factors that affect these quality characteristics. When all possible factors have been cited, the most likely factors are enumerated through detail discussion with operator and quality control staff. The research then applied central composite design and response surface methodology to optimize the process parameters. Confirmation experiment was used to validate the experiemt and regression model. There are sinificant improvements on product quality, production efficeincy, and material consumption. Keywords: Automatic Spraying, Plato, Cause and Effect Diagram, Response Surface Methodology, Central Composite Design 方正中 103 學位論文 ; thesis 48 zh-TW
