Summary:碩士 === 南台科技大學 === 應用英語系 === 102 === This study aimed to investigate the effects of English musical songs instruction on EFL elementary school students’ listening comprehension. The subjects were 95 six grade students from four classes at a elementary school in Tainan City. Listening in the experimental group was taught by applying English musical songs instruction, whereas subjects in the control group received conventional textbook instruction. This study lasted total eighteen weeks, including the listening comprehension pre-test and post-test. The instrument included the starter level examination from YLE, seven English musical songs and English textbook New Magic Land 7. The quantitative data were analyzed by adopting the SPSS program with t-tests. According to the results of this study, major finding were shown below. First, English musical songs instruction had a significant effect on EFL elementary school six grade students’ listening comprehension. Second, most of the six grade students thought that English musical songs instruction improved their English learning. Third, the students had positive attitudes toward English musical songs instruction. Fourth, the students felt more confident in doing listening activities.
