In this study, college students' prosocial behavior and subjective well-being are being discussed. The purposes of this study are: (1) to understand the real situation of social behavior and subjective well-being of college students; (2) to explore the correlations between prosocial behavior and subjective well-being; (3) to examine the differences in TzuChi young volunteers and college students of their prosocial behavior and subjective well-being; (4) to analyze the interaction of prosocial behavior and subjective well-being under different demographic factors. This research employs the method of questionnaire survey. A total of 820 subjects who are college students in Taiwan participate in the study; the instruments apply in this study with Prosocial Behavior Scale and Subjective Well-Being Scale. The obtained data are analyzed with descriptive statistics, Pearson product-moment correlation, Hotelling T2 test and two-way MANOVA. The result are as follws: 1. There is a significant correlation between prosocial behavior and subjective well-being. 2. The "altruistic prosocial behavior", "emotional prosocial behavior" and "compliant prosocial behavior" associated with subjective well-being at a higher level; the "anoymous prosocial behavior" and "public prosocial behavior" associated with subjective well-being at a lower level. 3. The "altruistic prosocial behavior" and "emotional prosocial behavior" of the V TzuChi young volunteers associated with subjective well-being at a higher level. 4. The TzuChi young volunteers show a different point of views on the "anoymous prosocial behavior" and "public prosocial behavior." 5. The TzuChi young volunteers show a significantly better performance on "altruistic prosocial behavior", "emotional prosocial behavior" and "compliant prosocial behavior" than the college students. 6. The TzuChi young volunteers have a better significantly grades on "emotional well-being", "psychological well-being" and "social well-being" than the college students. 7. Students with different identity (TzuChi young volunteers or college students) show a significantly effect on prosocial behavior; nonetheless, other factors such as gender and participation across different time periods are found to have no influences. 8. Among the groups of the college students, the freshman show a significantly better performance on prosocial behavior than the senior. 9. The sophomore, junior and senior of the TzuChi young volunteers show a significantly better performance on prosocial behavior than the college students at the same grade level. 10. The TzuChi young volunteers show a significantly better performance on the subjective well-being. 11. Students with different gender show a significantly effect on the subjective well-being; nonetheless, other factors such as participation across different time periods are found to have no influences.
