This study was based on in-depth interviews to understand the problem of unadaptaion and deficiency of work knowledge and skills the foreign maid encounter. An empowering education activity that is appropriate for the foreign maid was designed to support to improve the unadaptation and the working skills required for professional care service. The researcher could evaluate the empowering education activity after it finishes according to the feedback of the employers and the observation from the researcher. The empowering education program for the foreign maid was based on dialogue instruction in order to make the foreign maid thinking and speaking out for themselves. The interactive dialogue, the demonstration of researcher could connect with lives of the foreign maids to trigger their learning motivation, improve the adaptation and promote the care knowledge and skills. ‘‘The promotion of adaptation ability’’, ‘‘the improvement of caring knowledge and skills’’, ‘‘the enhancement of confidence’’, ‘the change of working attitude and sense of value’’, and ‘‘the expectation of future work’’, the six aspects of life adaptation and working knowledge and skill, were proved obviously effective for the foreign maid after the empowering education activities were executed. The improvement of the relationship between the foreign maid and their employers and the upgrade of mutual satisfaction could help solve the problems of unadaptation and the deficiency of working knowledge and skills.
