Description
Summary:碩士 === 東海大學 === 會計學系 === 102 === This study examines the relationship between national competitiveness of invested countries and firm performance for Taiwan’s listed electronics industry companies within the period from 2008 to 2012. I employ the global competitiveness index of World Economic Forum (WEF) as the measure of competitiveness of investee countries to remedy the inadequacies of prior literature and research methods. The main findings are as follows: (1) companies invest in the countries with higher competitiveness are positively associated with operational efficiency; (2) companies invest in the countries with higher competitiveness are positively associated with innovation performance; (3) companies invest in the countries with higher competitiveness are positively associated with firm value. In addition, the empirical results show that the fundamental competitiveness of investee countries helps the operating efficiency of companies. Finally, the efficiency and innovation competitiveness of investee countries enhance the innovation performance and market value of firms.
