Description
Summary:碩士 === 臺北醫學大學 === 醫學資訊研究所 === 102 === Objectives: The aim of this study was to investigate the difference of intratesticular arterial pulsatility index (PI) and resistance index (RI) between varicocele and healthy testis with power Doppler ultrasonography. Methods: From October 2010 to January 2013, 46 male patients with scrotal varicocele and 12 healthy men were included in this study. The PI and RI were measured with power mode Doppler ultrasonography. In addition, the diagnosis of varicocele was obtained according to physical examination. Results: The RI of intratesticular arterial branch was higher in patient’s left testis than his right side (p<0.001). However, we could not found similar result in healthy men (p=0.21). The PI were similar among groups. The left testis in patients had higher RI than that of healthy men (p=0.013), and the PI was similar. Conclusions: This preliminary data suggest that RI was higher in varicocele testis. Doppler ultrasonography seem to be a valuable modality for evaluation of clinical varicocele.
