碩士 === 臺北醫學大學 === 醫學人文研究所 === 102 === Abstract
The devastating scale of the HIV/AIDS epidemic is undoubtedly one of the most significant threats confronting the continent: more than 33 million people are living with HIV, millions are newly infected each year, and merely only less than half of those in need have access to treatment. Today, mobile health information technologies are widely used in health care systems around the world to strengthen and improve the quality of care, find the feasible solutions; communicate between Health workers and patients, to provide health education, reduce the cost and data collection.
Herein, the thesis is focused on the impact of mobile health interventions over HIV/AIDS and TB treatment; the possibilities for developing innovative, locally appropriate, scalable and sustainable uses of mobile phones to support HIV/AIDS patients. This thesis is mainly based on the update literature review following through search, analysis, and summary of the M-health literature with regards to HIV/AIDS and TB care management to resolve the research question.
Finally, 90 articles were meeting the criteria. In the results during the content analysis; due to many solutions found we merged them with related solution and categorized them into six main solutions. mobile phones were used for different health solutions such as; treatment, adherence, quality of care, follow up, quality of life, prevention, mother to child prevention, education, motivation, behavioral change, testing motivation, lab results, data collection, disease monitoring, and disease surveillance, etc.
Basing on the research findings and analysis, this study suggests that mobile phone technology is an effective tool for HIV care, treatment, education, data collection and to reduce the global burden on health care by providing more effective HIV and AIDS prevention, treatment and management support.
