Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺南藝術大學 === 應用藝術研究所 === 102 === This artwork is inspired by my love of cartoon animation as a child, and the visual impact of cartoon animation and the appeal of cartoon stories. My passion for cartoon animation has continued into adulthood, leading to my creation of imaginary characters in a virtual world and a story of my own imagination. In the story, the protagonist finds himself in a world full of mechanical designs and begins an adventure to get back to the world he came from. The people and objects encountered by the protagonist make up the content of the series of artworks, which is based on the development of the story. Since the artworks are imagination made tangible, the characters are not based on reality. People tend to derive self-satisfaction by fantasizing and romanticizing. I attempt to combine my own imagination with certain ideal, and convert characters in my mind into physical forms. Elements in the story are expressed using the techniques and texture of metalwork, giving tangibility to imagination in a real world. By transforming everyday experience into creative inspiration, and combining the imaginary with everyday experience, I experimented with metalwork techniques familiar to me. I challenge myself by testing with metal mechanisms, and expressing colors, textures and shapes in my mind, endeavoring to create all kinds of possibilities from my imaginary story.
