Summary:碩士 === 大同大學 === 生物工程學系(所) === 102 === The purpose of this thesis is to study junior high school students’ information, cognition and attitude towards gene modified food. The research objects are 310 junior high school students in the 7th and 8th grade in Meinong Junior High School. Questonnaire survey was adopted to collect materials. The data were analyzed utilizing one-way ANOVA and Canonical Analysis. The research conclusions are described as follows. 1.Grade 7th and 8th pupils’ gene modified food information sources include TV, network, book and magazine and classmates. 2.Pupils think foods can be made of gene-modified crops as soybean salad oil, potato crisps, tofu and soy milk. 3.Pupils pay much attention to food safety when purchasing foods. 4.There is a significant difference among junior high school students from different socio-economic families.(father education level, mother education level,father’s profession, mother’s profession) 5.According to T-test, there is no significant difference exists in terms of gender and vegetarian. But a significant difference exists in terms of religion. 6.All junior high school students think that GMF should be labeled obligatorily to ensure the rights of consumers. 7.All junior high school students highly agree that GMO courses should be studied in the elementary school and junior high school. Finally, several suggestions by discussing are provided according to the results, and they could be the references for teachers and further related research.
