Summary:碩士 === 臺北市立大學 === 資訊科學系碩士班 === 102 === The vehicular ad hoc network (VANET) is an essential enabling technology for the achievement of road traffic safety and efficiency in the modern intelligent transportation system. Reliable and stable routes are desirable but challenging in VANETs for their fast topology changes due to high mobility of vehicles. Recently a stable route decision scheme (SRDS), which is a position-aware on-demand routing protocol adopting a specific distance-based broadcasting method. In this thesis, a modified distance-based broadcasting mechanism with better reachability is proposed. Simulation results show that the proposed mechanism significantly improves success rate of route discovery compared with the original one.
