Description
Summary:碩士 === 萬能科技大學 === 材料科學與工程研究所 === 102 === Rice bran oil have moisturizing and antioxidant capacity. Most of rice bran oil applications on the dietary supplements rarely used in cosmetics. Thus, the feasibility of rice bran oil in cosmetic formulations developed was researched. In the study, the oil in water emulsions were prepared. The emulsions preparation used Rice bran oil in the oil phase, the deionized water and polymers (Xanthan gum, Arabic gum, or Carbopol 940) in the aqueous phase, the Span80 and Tween80 surfactants as emulsifiers. The effect of polymers on the physical properties and stability of rice bran oil emulsions were investigated, and then the stability emulsions were added humectant, which will be used on human skin to research the degree of moisturizing ability. The experimental results show that the arabic gum emulsions discovered phase separation by stability test, which means the emulsion instability. The emulsions could be had stability by used 0.5 wt% xanthan gum, 1 wt% mixed emulsifiers and the pH ranges between 5~9. When the emulsion preparation used carbopol 940 by 0.5 wt% carbopol 940, 1 wt% mixed emulsifiers and the pH ranges between 3.8~5.2 could be had stability. According to the epidermal hydration test results show that the glycerin added the stable emulsions could be had best moisturizing ability until one hour. The results will be used the development of rice bran oil emulsion formulation reference in cosmetics.
