This study also conducted a convenience sampling survey by focusing on the police personnelof Hsinchu City Police Bureau, distributed 650 copies of officialquestionnaire, and 600 valid copies collected with an effective response rate of92.30%; among which, there’re 552 males with accounting for 91.7%, and 48 females with account for 8.3%. For leisure sports, there’re 346 persons (57.6%) whose average expenseat leisure sports would be less than NT$ 5000 monthly; and 263 persons’(43.7%) partners of doing leisure sports are their family members. In addition, there’re 392 persons, accounting for 65.4%that outdoor sports are the leisure sports they mostly participated in; and 580 persons (96.7%) thought that they would be felt physical and mental happiness after doing leisure sports with 1.85 times of doing leisure sports and average 57.86 minutes for each time. Research results showed that Hsinchu City’s police personnel would have the highest motivation in pursuing「Health and Fitness」 in terms of 「Participation Motivation in Leisure Sports」, the rest of them are Achievement Requirement, IntellectualPursue and Social Need in turn. As for the obstruction of leisure sports, 「Individual’s Obstruction」 is the main factor of obstructing leisure sportsfor police personnel, other factors are Structural Obstructionand Interpersonal Obstruction in turn. In terms of police personnel’s「Physical and Mental Health」,「Negative Emotion」 is the major factor of influencing physical and mental health for police personnel, others are Live Adaption, Live Interference and Physical Condition in turn. There existed a significant difference among police personnel with differentdemographic variables, such as age, service seniority, rank and work attribution; however, it didn’t reach a significant differenceamong gender, education level and marital status. In terms of obstructive factors for leisure sports, there existed a significant difference amongage, service seniority, rank, work attribution and marital status; in addition, it didn’t reach a significant difference in obstructing leisure sports among police personnel with different genders and seniorities. This research result revealed that would reach a significant correlation among the participation motivation in leisure sports, leisure sports obstructive factor and physical and mental health for police personnel; moreover, it reached a significant correlation among these 4 aspects ofleisure participation motivationand 3 aspects of obstructing leisure sports and physical and mental healthfor police personnel. It is expected to provide this research result to police agencies and police personnel to understand the relationship among the participation motivation in leisure sports, obstructive factor and physical and mental health for police personnel, and to be a reference to follow-up academic research in order to reduce obstruction of leisure sportsfor police personnel, provide planning of leisure sports, and relieve police personnel’s stress from work and duty by participating in positive leisure sports, and then enhance their fitness and improve their physical and mental health; thus, advance police work efficiency to achieve substantial benefits to strengthen our nation, society and people’s protection network.
