| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立雲林科技大學 === 視覺傳達設計系 === 102 === Rock has the influences of criticism in the culture, and singers use it to express their emotion of dislike from society. Rock is never out of fashion and also can prove it as a complex of all kind music. It display kinds of social culture, and you can know how popular is it so that it can become the role of music field from sales. Besides the essence of music, the design of album cover is important, it is not only the façade of album but its meaning is different along of contemporary thought and designer’s performance. As disappearing of reality album, we are in the transition period of reality album and digital album. The research expects to use digital platform as basis to investigate the rock album cover’s performance of structure factor and analyze document.
The research use The Best Rock Album Nominated at the Grammy Award as sample to carry on the analysis of form and content. The first stage is focus on the sample’s form to conduct the affinity diagram and classify the covers’ color, image and word performance. The second stage is throughout the document analysis to transform the sample to word description discourse and analyze album cover’s content and image is fit to topic or not. The stage is also analyzing the album’s visual central issue. The third stage is combining the structure interview and semi-structured interview to focus on domestic designer and album planner’s concept of album cove design and the process of music visualization.
Set the research category and analyze content structure, and have the result.
The color part:
1. Classify from cold and warm feeling, including cold color, neutral color, warm color and colorless.
2. Classify from hue, including with color and colorless.
3. Classify from color quantity, including single color and multi color.
The image part:
1. Classify from content, including word performance, people performance, animal performance, object performance, landscape performance and abstract geometry performance.
2. Classify from performance technique, including illustration performance, photography performance and image synthesis.
The word part:
1. Classify from scrip, including serif, sans serif and non font.
2. Classify from content, including main album, main performer and double hit.
To conclusion the result found that album cover’s color prefer the colorless, hue is used to have blue, red and orange and the color quantity controlled to three colors below. The images are preferred people’s performance and performance technique uses the main of photography. The words are prefer bold face and emphasize on actor more than album from main standard and payment standard. The digital album’s achievement in the future will be more multiple and singles. It will also combine different digital carrier to sale. While the reality album’s achievement will be more fine and be Customization so that can highlight the reality album’s value.
