The survey sample included 410 participants randomly selected in one of the junior high schools in Taichung City and resulted in 369 valid survey questionnaires. Exploratory factor analysis identified mindfulness, Internet addiction, and interpersonal relationships of junior high school students which comprised the four subscales: Chinese Internet Addiction Scale, Mindful Attention Awareness Scale, Self-Compassion Scale, and Emotional Competence Inventory. The survey data collected were analyzed using factor analysis, structural equation modeling, t-test, and partial correlations. The results showed that females had significantly higher scores in ‘Concentration’ and ‘Overall MAAS’ but lower scores in ‘Self-Criticism’ than males. Males had significantly higher scores in ‘Compulsive symptoms,’ ‘Withdrawal symptoms,’ ‘Tolerance Symptoms,’ ‘Interpersonal &; Health Problems,’ ‘Time Management,’ and ‘Overall CIAS’ but lower scores in ‘Empathy,’ ‘Self-Control,’ ‘Social Skills,’ and ‘Overall ECI’ than females. Partial correlations revealed that MAAS decreased internet addiction and PoA enhanced interpersonal relationships. This study discussed the limitations of the study and provided suggestions for future research. Chih-Chao Lai 賴志超 2014 學位論文 ; thesis 110 en_US
