However, the relative study of Sn-Zn-Sb system is very limited. The phase diagrams are fundamental for understanding this new ternary system, thus the purpose of this work is to construct the isothermal section of Sn-Zn-Sb system at 250°C as well as the liquidus projection. The Sn-Zn-Sb alloys were prepared and analyzed by electron probe micro-analyzer (EPMA), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and differential thermal analysis (DTA), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). From our results, the isothermal section was constructed with 4 three-phase regions and 1 two-phase region. A ternary compound SnZnSb2 was also observed and analyzed by XRD and TEM. The liquidus projection was also determined with six primary solidification phase ζ-SbZn, δ-SbZn, ε-SbZn, β-SbZn, Sb and SnZnSb2.
