Summary: | 碩士 === 元智大學 === 機械工程學系 === 102 === The hospital is a place where people gathering in a weak state of bodily functions, whether they have mentally or physical problems, and people’s life go through born, old age, sickness and death four stages. If a fire happened in hospital, then, “How to save and evacuate patients to a safety place?”, it will be an important issue. However, due to different space-time background, general hospitals and regional hospitals are also facing the development of high-rise building. That will make patient to escape from fire more difficultly. Therefore, a high standard fire protection facility and the effective control and improve of the risk factors and it is no
doubt the key for fire research.
In this study, a real case is used for exploring the evacuation of elder people in high-floors by using Fire Dynamics Simulator software(FDS) developed by NIST. The relevant regional fire temperature, smoke layer height and CO concentration are obtained through numerical simulation within a fixed area. And the risk factors affect the elders to refuge/escape were analyzed and explored. In addition, setting different variables including: smoke hanging wall length, sprinkler activation temperature, mechanical ventilation, air flow and escape path aperture ratio, compared with each other inside the fire of the elders to increase the effective time difference evacuative. With medical advances, while, in response to the increase in the elderly population trends and development of high-rise buildings, how can small and medium sized hospitals in the future to promote the probability of patient and personnel to escape from fire scene? The simulation result might be worth of a reference for hospital to improve its fire protection and personnel refuge facilities.
