| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 犯罪防治研究所 === 103 === This study involves the use of semi-structured in-depth interview method, through which the respondents from different social environments gave detailed accounts of the incidents, allowing for a deeper insight into the prisoners’ attachment to their families, personal backgrounds, the impact of the incidents on the prisoners personally as well as on their family members, the deterrence effect of imprisonment, the prisoners’ attitude toward serving time in jail, and the change in their physical and mental condition while in prison.
It is expected that the results of the interviewees’ change in their behavior after entering the correctional facility will serve as a foundation for relevant policy implementation in the future, and the study also provides specific suggestions. The study further proposes that, in order to effectively changing a criminal’s behavior for the better, the coercive measures adopted in correctional treatment should be supplemented by the presence of other conditions, and the criminal’s willingness to reform should also be reinforced. More suggestions are provided in the study to serve as a reference for the planning of treatment programs for people convicted of murdering lineal ascendants.
