It had five objectives and aimed at achieving, firstly to understand the status of teachers’ Personality Traits and Organizational Citizenship Behavior(OCB); Secondly, to explore the relationship between personal background variables and OCB; thirdly, to explore the relationship between teachers' personality traits and organizational citizenship behavior; fourthly, to explore the impact of teacher's personal background and personality variables on organizational citizenship behavior predictive power. Lastly, the fifth object was to disseminate this research findings for evidence that benefit education and better education policy. The research methods included literature analysis and a revised survey-based research tools that used as scale measuring teacher personality traits and organizational citizenship behavior. Use of stratified random sampling strategy, a total of 1080 questionnaires sent to the population of 16,079 teachers who worked in the public elementary school in the new Taipei County. In total, 703 questionnaires were collected; with 68% return rate and 65% incompletion. SPSS was applied to manage data and to analyze data with descriptive statistics and inferential statistics including independent samples t-test, one-way analysis of variance, multivariate one-way analysis of variance, Pearson product moment correlation and multiple regression analysis to verify the research hypothesis. The findings of this study were as follows: 1. Among the five dimensions of teacher’s personality, a teacher in the primary school in the New Taipei county, "friendliness" showed strongest related to personality trait and followed with the dimension of "diligence integrity, while "extraversion" showed the weakest one. 2. The overall performance of teachers' organizational citizenship behavior was on average level, while "actively helping" was scored at the highest one that followed in order by the facet of "dedicated behavior", "care for their students" and "recognized schools". 3. Factors of age, seniority, job and marital status showed a statistical significant impact on teachers’ organizational citizenship behavior. 4. Characters of ' emotional stability "," extraversion "," openness "," friendliness "and" diligence integrity of "organizational were positively related to each other. 5. The five personality traits of "extraversion", "openness", "friendliness" and "diligence integrity " showed a significant power in predicting organizational citizenship behavior traits, whereas background variables in the "seniority", "marital status" and "duties" showed similar significance, too. Finally, the researcher of this study concluded the findings provided evidence that could be recommendations for educational administration, policy maker and thus to benefit education and its quality.
