Official weather data on Hsinchu, Taiwan, were used to calculate and analyze heating systems containing vacuum and planar tube solar energy collecting plates and involving conventional thermal-siphon circulation and forced circulation. A thorough evaluation was conducted by operating the systems at water temperatures ranging from 45 to 90 °C. The results revealed that the efficiency of the solar thermal heater was increased by 15%.
