However, its effectiveness on the adopted family in Taiwan has not been examined. This study evaluated the impacts of support group on the adopted families of one welfare agency in Southern Taiwan. Quantitative study was adopted in this research. All the families who were attained the support groups held by this agency between 2012-2013 were surveyed by mail questionnaire. 65 persons responded (the response rate= 52.4%). These data was further analyzed by SPSS. The results showed that support group program was effective to these families: most families benefited from the support groups by having more understanding of the issues of openness adoption, increasing the degree of social support, and xtending their social network. However, they also responded the needs to have more knowledge on how to tell their child about adoption, especially to their teenage child.
