To enjoy a better quality of life, we may better improve the financial planning and achieve life goals through sufficient financial knowledge and literacy. In recent years, more and more people in different countries acknowledge importance to children's financial education and integrates curriculum into the formal education system. Also, both government and non-governmental organizations in Taiwan, stepped up the pace in promoting financial education. In this study, "finance basic education materials – elementary education chapter" issued by FSC was employed as the basic instrument to design four units, a total of eight classes of financial education curriculum for sixth grade students teaching experiment and explore their teaching effectiveness . This study used three research instruments, namely financial education materials, self-designed questionnaire called “primary school students financial outlook", questionnaire and quiz on financial recognition. Pretest and posttest were administered to the students in the experimental group, and so did the control group. Quantitative data collected from questionnaires were further analyzed by SPSS. At the end of financial education programs, six students of experiment group were interviewed to understand their feedback and recommendations for this teaching. Based on the findings, researcher summarized the conclusions as follows: Firstly, the implementation of financial education programs can really raise elementary students’ recognition to money. Secondly, the implementation of financial education programs can really improve sixth graders’ financial awareness. Thirdly, six graders demonstrated high interest to financial education programs. It is therefore researcher look forward to inclusion of financial education to formal curriculum by education authorities. It is hoped our officials understand the need for more school financial education and dedicated to planning and promoting policies to enhance overall financial literacy of citizens.
