Description
Summary:碩士 === 朝陽科技大學 === 資訊工程系 === 103 === The proliferation of information technology has resulted in the trend of all campuses being equipped with computers; however, in the standard management of computer labs, maintaining normal operation of computer hardware and software is a very resource-draining task. When constructing a computer-learning environment, hardware restoration cards or backup software is often used. Although this can effectively reduce the problem of computer damage, it also comes at a higher cost along with disadvantages such as low resource usage rate and compatibility issues between hardware and software. In addition, because of limited budget, schools in the remote regions cannot use the system recovery cards because of their high cost. This leads to the difficulty of computer maintenance and thus the computers are easily damaged so to hinder the learning of the students in the remote regions, therefore widen the gap of digital learning between the cities and the remote regions. In order to narrow the gap of digital learning, one must take the management and maintenance of computers into consideration when constructing a computer teaching environment. This research uses the free software as an alternative. Free software is free of charge and is also good in effectiveness. It is highly capable in supporting the new computer hardware and is compatible with the new computer hardware; therefore, free software is the effective solution to the remote regions or the disadvantaged groups. Although free software can solve the problems of high cost, low usage and the compatibility with the hardware, it does not have the recovery mechanism. This study focuses on the problem described above to design a Linux operating system environment in which the client can use a network boot mode to a preboot execution environment (PXE) to greatly reduce the time needed for install. When the Linux operating system completes installation, a virtual machine coupled with a system management script program is used to replace the functions of a restoration card. The virtual machine is to prevent errant operation on the client end that can result in system failure. This can also achieve the demands of multiple systems; functions such as re-install or system restore offer solutions to the problem of a restore mechanism. Also, the administrator can use the system management script program to conduct monitoring actions on the client end.
