In Taiwan, the synthetic Ostrinia furnacalis sex pheromone has been mainly used for pest monitoring rather than mass trapping, since wing-type traps are costly and disposable. This research reports an economical and effective technique of disruption, using traces of either (Z)-12-Tetradecenyl acetate or (E)-12-Tetradecenyl acetate dispensed in polyethylene microtube to suppress the male in the corn field. Results showed the male suppression rates for (Z)-12-Tetradecenyl acetate and (E)-12-Tetradecenyl acetate are 92%〜100% and 96%〜100% at the dosage of 40mg∕1000m2, respectively. Further investigation and application in such technique is recommended in order to achieve pesticide-free pest control. Chung-Kuang Jow 卓重光 2015 學位論文 ; thesis 69 zh-TW
